Black high beams are off and replaced with the old sealed beams. Going to be spraying them yellow in the near future. I ordered an alarm, it came in last week along with some door lock actuators. Should be installing atleast the alarm this week.
Havent done much to the truck lately other than drive it here and there. I did get the alarm installed but sadly the 2way remote was DOA, been dealing with getting a replacement for the last few weeks. Im guna try to get the power locks installed hopefully this weekend. Il probably run wiring for door speakers too in case i decide to ever install them there
After some searching and thinking. Im going to wait on the ujoints. The diff drain is steady leaking. Im going to replace the drain/fill plugs and see how that goes. Main reason im doing this is because i started hearing a metallic clank when i gonto drive it after its sat for a while. Guessig the oil level being low isnt helping so il start there and inspect the ujoints while il under there
Well i checked the diff fluid level and there is plenty. Pulled the trigger on U joints, took advantage and ordered a new trans mount and bushing for the leaf springs Does anyone know if the diff drain plug for the 79+ fits the older trucks?
Dunno on the drain plug but I'd assume so since it's an 8" like the newer 4wd trucks (and then the Tacomas 2wd/4wd?)
i think i have a straight bumper from a 77 sitting in my backyard. i believe the frame is slightly narrower on the early trucks and would require some fab work.
Tore into the truck today with the help of one of my friends. Got the U-joints swapped out, trans mount replaced and replaced the leaf spring bushings with some Energy Suspension bushings. So far the rear end feels alot more solid and trans feels more stable too. Not getting any bouncing around of the shifter. Could all be in my head
finally got bored enough to put the door lock actuators in. Got the holes drilled out in the driver door for the rubber boot to fit in. Going to pull the passenger fender tomorrow and drill that side out. Hoping to have it all put back together by the weekend. Il post some pictures later
Didnt really take any pictures but the power locks are working good so far. I may need to adjust the rods a little but for now theyre fine Wires from the door to the cab Grommet looks funky in the pic. I fixed it after
Had to pick up some flooring at the local Lowes. Had no idea how heavy the pallet was. Drove 3 miles home bottoming out the frame on every fuckin rock on the road lol. The tire tucked looked good tho
Yo! Putting in work! QUESTION: What brake master cylinder are you using after the front disc swap? Do you have a picture of the set up?
@KS.ID The booster and master are from a 83. Im also using the stock proportioning valve thats mounted on the booster. Il update this post with a picture when i get home from work
Heres a pic of the booster/MC/proportioning valve. What you cant see is the section if pinch weld behind the booster had to be trimmed to fit this thing in place. And the brake lines are new up front
Awesome! Thanks for that picture Jetas! I have the proportioning valve and a 1975 OEM Master Cylinder. I am thinking of rebuilding the Cylinder since its got the "TEq" logo on there.
