title says it all. i lost my key, have no spare, and NEED to drive my truck. can someone coach me through a hotwire. or any ways to start it?! thanks
i think i have the basics of the hotwire down. pretty simply concept. but before i go about that ima try a screwdriver and break out the tumblers. ideas. thouughts
haha, that's wat my friend does.. lol he lost his keys so he leaves his door locked with one click all the time, then just pushes it and it opens... he has a screwdriver as his ignition key switch... lol.. its cool tho... ever since, i've been told it has not been stolen since...
Hot wiring that truck is easy. I had to do it with mine. Just pull the switch out and the posts on the back are labled.
pull the glove box lock cylinder and or the passenger side door key cylinder KEY CODE is on the cylinder itself. Take that to a dealer and or locksmith and they can cut a key
told my dad about my dilemma, he came up with 13 toyota keys from his past toyotas(my dad being an enthusiast as well). no hot wiring was needed. i found one of those keys works as smooooth as stock. door locks and all
i was gonna say to dig up some old toyota keys. theyre pretty universal after things are so worn down after 30 years. my key starts most mid 80s and back toyotas. the key to my 92 works on the rest.
they had no steering lock on 78 just take the cover off the top behind the wheel one Phillips screw unscrew the electronic ign/start switch off the left side start truck with flathead had to do it before to mine then I found the key in the yard
hey just thought about this hope your not trying to start bykers missing 78 truck are you ? you are just down the street a bit there found any trucks in your driveway lately?
Lol thanks for thinking about me. But his post was 3 years old. And if somebody does try to claim it, I will report it stolen. Ive been eying craigslist.
I remember that guy 400dollarphil from a couple years back. seemed like a decent guy. dont rag on him guys. we've all been there at some point.
i was never raging on him I knew there was no chance it was your truck byker just making a comment on it since someone bumped it back up to where I thought it was a new post then realized it was ancient
I was gonna say dig up old toy keys also! When I got my truck it had a different key for doors gas door and Ignition. I found a factory toy key in a parking lot and it it works on all locks! Couldn't belive it
That's scary,........my boy Joe had a 91 hatch that I could unlock and start with my first gen CRX key
I brought a new tumbler but I broked the little pin that in the middle does anyone have one.i hate using a screwdriver to start my truck
