I had that thought too because "antifreeze" also raises the boiling point.
changed oil the other day, and no water, so I figure it is either leaking somewhere that I can't see evidence of, leaking into the cylinder, or it is boiling over and I'm losing it that way.
I haven't wanted to take her out for a long trip this way, but I have to drive a few hours tomorrow, so I guess I will fill her up 50/50 antifreeze and water, burp her, try to install my new temp gauge, and hope for the best.
Just go get a hydrocarbon test done & be done with it!!
Wasting money & time & damaging inertial parts!
well, drove a solid 4 hours today, and no coolant loss, no overheating, no nothing. Didn't do anything so now i have to wonder what fixed itself or what didn't show itself today. I guess I can always hope that it has fixed itself.
very strange. but keep an eye on it.
