$100 is pretty cheap! when i bought mine they quoted like $220 for everything, but after telling that it was going in a minitruck i walked out the door only spending $135!
Ya I kno it's cheap I think I'm gonna go pick it up after I get my stock frame next weekend. I wud do it this weekend but summer madness. The guy said I can take the frame an anythin else I want for 100 an the guy with the rear end said 100 which isn't bad at all I think.
ihad this idea when i found a junk 240 s14 on the side of the road. thought my hardbody would loooove it! but not sure if i was going to keep the truck or not, so pulled out. good luck on this build man! will be watching for it!
This has more to do with the half shafts being weak, than issues with wheel hop. Unless your trying to run more than 150HP over stock, the stock drivetrain and suspension are more than adequate.
I just want an IRS because I like the way they look an cause if I run a 1jz I could basically have a supra with a truck body an all 4 wheels with negative camber looks badass
So I went to pick n pull today and there were only 2 supras thought about getting an IRS but I also noticed alot of sc300 lexus'. Would that rear end work?
I don't think its a matter of weather it will work or not but more about how much work you want to put it. Im actually looking at doing this same project with my 76' and was coonsidering an S13 rear end and front end just for they're structural simplicity but recently I had pondered using an E36 rear end mainly because StanceWorks makes a zero clearance coilover set for them. But one thing I would be concerned about for the SC would be the overall length of it from hub to hub. But again I think it comes down to how much work you want to do.
neg camber looks bad ass but camber worn tires just look shtty. if camber is what you want youve got expensive taste, gunna be buying tires by the dozen
i guess you havnt seen the build thread of that ranger on street source. has a 2jz, supra auto trans and the supra IRS laying 24's
I thought those were 22s? That guy does amazing work. I found some 300zx being parted out but I'd have to get those narrowed
nope..dem 4's lol/ ya he does great work! he's gonna be at west coast if you are going. i cant make it this year
My boys yota has a rx7 rearend only time he has camber is layed out. Which is what I want. Not at ride height or at full lift. Just when I'm layed out with some camber
Its not camber that eats your tires its the toe in or out that isnt adjustable on most cars or the lack of adjustment. On my DD I run -2.4 fronts and -2.2 rears and toes is set at 1 degree in on front and 0 on the rears and my tires dont have uneven wear like you would think.
no. camber definitly eats tires... you may be running camber on your DD but your tires are probably not wide or have a crazy offset. wide tires + camber = tire death. True toe alse can eat your tires as well, but if you go into any basic suspension or allignment book it will tell you right in the beginning that camber and toe will damage tires.
What I should have stated was its a combination of of the two. But most cars dont have toe adjustment range to get itself back to a reasonible degree to prevent major tire ware. Everyone just points out camber but forgets there are other factors in suspension geometry when lowering a car. 255 40 17 on my Saabaru Wagon et35 pretty aggressive for the tire size and stock body...
