92 Pickup, Regular Cab. Got a crazy rattle coming from the dashboard. Definitely internal. More closer to the passenger side. It's on and off with acceleration/deceleration. Gonna look further into it when I install a radio soon, but just curious if this is a common thing that you all know about already. Thanks!

Mine does the same. Once you pull off the dash, take a look at where the dash pad attaches to the cab just up under the windshield. On mine it looks like the screw terminals are broken (because they are plastic). The previous owner stuffed some shop rags up in there, so I readjusted them and it seems to help. I'd like to get some neoprene washers or something and get some padding up in there to help, too. Not sure what to do with it beyond that, though.

    Thanks so much guys!

Absolutely, I understand a 24 year old truck will make tons of noises. Hell, I have a 44 year old Datsun, so I know all about it. I had a 2nd gen 4runner growing up, but this is my first pickup, and just got it last week. Thought maybe it was a 'common' rattle you all may know about. Either way, when I rip out the lower dash this weekend, I hope to find something, and was just being lazy in the meantime until then ;)

If it helps, here's a vid of the rattle:

Just gut the interior and keep the essentials. Be easier to track a rattle down then lol

yeah, i know the 1st gen tacomas(96-04) have a "common" rattle in the center of the dash, and the toyota fix for it is to shove some rubber gloves between the dash and the defroster area....lol

When the noise occurs, start pressing on various dash panels and see if the noise goes away.
In my case, it was the lower plastic panel under the steering column. A screw had fallen out causing the panel to rattle.

Well I did find another rattle. It's coming from the cup holder when fully closed. If it comes back out about an inch, that noise stops too. I'll just put some foam on it somewhere, but damn, this truck is getting quiet now! :)
