    Need some help.
    1976 Toyota Hilux long bed / 20r / Automatic - that is 99% original.
Data tag lists the trans as A30
However all repair sources list this truck as having an A40...

    >It does have 2 bands - 1 has an external adjustment, the other inside.
    >It does have an exteral linkage that goes to the park pawl
    >The pan has a large X stamped on the bottom.

Any distinguishing marks that would determine if this is an A30 vs A40 such as the number of pan bolts?
Need to know which one so the parts can be ordered.
    Thanks

my 74 had the A30 as well, i was just about to regasket it before it turned into a noise making slushbox.

but my pan gasket was the same as a A40 if that helps.
