I need to replace muffler on 1975 hilux longbed. I was able to get clamps off securing the muffler, but what is best way to get the muffler actually off the exhaust pipes without damaging the pipes it is attached to. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks

Sawzall, weld new flanges on and bolt it up.. Honestly, other then that I have no tips, I've never dealt with it, I've just done all new,

Saw it and get a little piece of flex pipe. I did that when tweakers stole the catyletic converters off my cars easier than welding

The attachment on the left works great for cutting slits in the overlapping pipe. I've used it many times working on semi trucks. You may be able to rent an air hammer somewhere that has that attachment with it. 4 PIECE HAMMER ACCESSORY KIT AH4KA | Matco Tools
