To anybody running hard air lines, what did you use for the hard air lines ? I was thinking of running hard lines on my truck and was looking at 3/8" stainless steel . I can get a 50' coil for around $65-70 bucks. It has a burst pressure of 1300-1400 lbs. so it should be plenty tron. Just curious. Thanks
I run 3/8'' stainless hard lines above the bed, with 3/8'' soft lines below with brass push to connect fittings. I can remove the bed with all inside! Don't buy roll stock! I have got straight lengths from street rod shops & from Granger. Use Rridit tube bender & flaring tools, you'll have to use AN fittings that are costly, but very good quality. I used reg steel brake line to mock all up!!
Here's photo's of the project, I had them coming into the top of the notch cover & then changed it up asmade the notch cover removable!
Yeah, if you want to use roll stock, it's really only going to be stronger than the plastic DOT line. It won't exactly look better, as it's difficult to get straight. If you are just thinking of the strength of the line, the plastic DOT is what is found on semi brakes and is plenty durable. If you are doing it for looks, use straight hardline.
Ok, thanks guys. I was just thinking it would be more durable than the plastic line. I know it would take more effort for the hard lines but I'm thinking it would be worth it in the long run.
