So I'm looking into machine shop, but not sure what to expect. I need to have these jeep cherokee mesh center bore open up to 73.1 so they will fit snug to the toyota with the adapter. I was thinking of running with just the lugs, but when I tried my 17's without the adapter it vibrates on the highway. Any done this before? If they gonna charge an arm and leg I'm just gonna get another set of new 15's.

If your 17's vibrated it wasn't for lack of centering ring unless you have flat faced lug nuts. The 60* taper on lugnuts centers the wheel. Hub centric wheels have only been around for the 30 years or so. Everything was lug centric before that. My semi is lug centric too with no problems. :D

It vibrates less with the adapter.

Unless you're running the wrong lugnuts, 5 out of 5 studs are bent or you have a bent wheel it's all in your head. The taper of the lugnuts centers the wheel perfectly. The off the shelf hub centric rings I've seen were all for newer vehicles that run flat faced lugnuts so there has to be something to center the wheel since the lugnuts won't do it.
