So I'm planning on doing an exhaust set up on my 88 22re efi. I plan on buying these headers Street Header Kit 2 Wheel Drive 22R/RE 1985-1995 anyone have experience with these guys? what size pipe should I run to the back? Anyone have any suggestions on mufflers? I don't want anything obnoxious just a nice deep tone.
Nice header for sure. I ran one on an old truck and I'm going to be running one on my 89 before too long. As for muffler you can't go wrong with a welded MagnaFlow.
Something like a 11235 muffler would work depending on where you put it. If the exhaust is going to go over the axle an offset/offset fits better on its side before the axle and it eliminates a bend to get the tailpipe out the back. I also buy all my bends from summitracing.com or speedwaymotors.com. depending on what radius I need. Neither place carries all the combinations I've needed every time. Something else to remember is to use aluminized parts so they stay around longer. To give you an idea of the parts check out this post in my build thread.
X2 on the magnaflow. Nice, not to loud down low, but will start to scream up high! But not like a coffee can ricer.
I run the same header,alone with a Borla muffler, & LC cat,. I have changed all the flanges to two bolt so nothings is below the frame rails! I also ceramic coated all front to rear!
