    Hey guys its me again............
    hope everyone is well.
    one question this time,
    I have a 92 2wd ex cab p/u with a 3.0 v6 with an auto tranny.
now my question is is there anyway that i can replaced that long a$$
shifter handle? i mean that thing is ridiculously long!
and not to mention awkward. is there any companies that sell shorter ones?
it does have an over drive button. but ill relocate it if i have to.
    Thanks.....

My truck was an automatic with the same shifter as yours too, so before I swapped over to the 5-speed I cut my shifter on the column down. It looked pretty cool cause you couldnt even see it when it was in park.

Not too difficult to do...remove the steering column & the trim that fits over the shifter. Youll see a bolt that connects the shifter lever to the linkage part. There is also a plug that you unplug as well too. Ok once you get that removed youve going to have to cut the wire that runs along the shifter. I cant remember if its in the shifter itself or run along the outside. I did this mod so long ago lol. The end of the shifter where the overdrive button is has got to be taken off. Once you get all that apart you cut the lever down, put the end of the shifter back on & then connect the wires back together. Ive still got the shifter somewhere in my shop & Ill find it tomorrow & take some pics of it for you.
