after seeing truck actions new dash i figured i would try that on my 79 since it is cracked. but i can't seem to find whats holding the dash pad on. any suggestions?
Mines not new ,someone just asked for photo's. Been like this for @ lest a few years now! But glad it gets others doing work on their rides!!
Mine was not a pad! And on mine (84-88)there.s a 10mm nut hidden behind the glove box up on the outside! And one on the drivers side behind the gauge cluster.
ok, thanks. i'll look a little closer tomorrow. my wife was bugging me about taking the kids out on the dirtbikes while i was trying.
there are clips on the ends of the dash .. you can only see them when the door is open .. then the pad is "clipped" on once you remove all the screws on the front holding in the dash trims and glove box speedo trim .. the dash pad will then "snap" off .
Hi Burnzya; Besides following the information above about the clips, check around the center of the dash, where the radio speaker is installed, for clips or screws. In addition, if you have the side window defrost ducts, remove them. If the dash pad was repaired or replaced some people used uphostery adhesive to stop rattles in the pad. I hope this helps. best regards, suncomb1
