Anyone know of where to order a good-quality carpet kit for an '88? Reading the feedback of the eBay sellers who offer them makes me think that what they're selling is pretty poor quality, and poorly made. Lots of comments about "how thin" and how it "wasn't molded like the listing said". Don't wanna lay out the bucks if it's not gonna be "right", so figured I'd ask if any of y'all have had good luck with a certain brand/vendor, etc. Thanks!
I have ordered from the guys in the past for various other cars ..the carpet I got was nice thick and well molded .. I think they have a few options on quality and thickness backing material and such they aren't as cheap as others but there's reasons for that ACC: your authority for custom automotive carpet, floor mats, and more
Thanks! I will check them out. Goin' up to RIsing Sun tomorrow to talk to Don about what's left to do for the interior. Looks like they stock the vinyl mats in "beige", but the carpet kits only in blacks and shades of gray, and red and blue...bummer. I guess gray would look better than black, with the factory "tan" interior that I've got to work with.
I belive acc makes a beige rubber/vinyl mat like the original pre molded the colors might not match perfect but .. Close enough for floor matching That and. Think they send free samples
Yah...saw that they made the vinyl mats in beige. May end up going with that, if I can't find a carpet at least in the beige/brown color range....I'll keep lookin' !
Wow...they got the colors, coupla diferent weights/thicknesses and they do a molded "mass backing" too...cool! Thanks!
Most of these places (stockinteriors.com, the autoparts one listed above etc..) are all just reselling/drop shipping the ACC product.. in fact stockinteriors *IS* ACC.. I just put a black vinyl floor in my '88 from them.. I really wasnt sure when I first pulled it out of the box.. but after a couple/few hours screwing around it fits very very nicely.. The big thing is measure 3, 4, 5 times and cut once.. its also hard to get a nice even edge along the back of the cab .. as they send the vinyl out about a foot big on each side so you get it into cab and then trim to fit.. definitely watch the installation videos they tell ya to watch on youtube for tips.. I got some carpet floor mats from them for my ae86.. and I wasnt as happy.. the quality is great, but they were a bit big all the way around.. brett
