Not really interested in better performance. Just want some sound.

Everybody and their cousin got 40 series flow master down here.

Looking for something not as loud but still somewhat comparable. Maybe 50 series?

    Any feedback?

2 3/4 is way masive...3inch hopefully hes boosted or hes loosing major power. If u just want sound run a spin tec. But its loud. 2 1/2 is the biggest id go but u still lose power in our trucks. I ran 2 1/2 I felt a power gain wen I redid it,to 2 1/4.

If your sure yuu dont care about power and jus want sound then 2 1/2 would be biggest i'd go, but thats up to you.

For muffler most aggressive sound would be a flowmaster super 10 or cherry bomb extreme, both are single chamber mufflers, flowmasters super 44 mufflers are one step bellow in aggressive sound

I'm thinking more towards 50 series. I don't wanna 'wake up the neighbors' every morning.
Not looking to be as loud as 40 series....but just a notch or two under that. I don't care for the 'looks'....i just wanna be heard....somewhat . Stock Isn't cutting it.

I had Cherrybomb on my v6.......didn't like it much.
Hahahahah nah he's one dummy though. On his 4x4...he said mo betta low end power :verdict_in: cause low end all he get lol.

The 50 series are good mufflers, and I THINK they are ment for 4cylinders. Still have the flowmaster sound but not as hollow sounding.

Any body use those flapper mufflers yet the ones with the spring loaded flap that opens up on full throttle I'm not one for moving parts in my mufflers but seems like it be quiet while cruising ...just think it would jam or break and you wouldn't be able to tell or get to it

My magnaflow is pretty tame for regular pulling out the driveway and leaving the neighborhood at 2am.

Only til i get outside the neighborhood do i go WOT and that's pretty strong, smooth, and flowing.

Working at les schwab, i had a 1990 come in, thatwas completely stock exhaust, except instead of the factory muffler, it had a can on it. Anyone familiar with a 4 stroke quad that doesnt have a snap, just a deep thudding, is what it reminded me of, just a 4 cylinder version, being quite a bit smoother sound.

It sounded like a normal 4 cylinder at higher rpm, but had a good sound down low. I can say ill definitely ne doing it for myself

i got the 50 series with cheapo pacesetter headers. sounds pretty good to me. not raunchy sounding, but still sounds action. has a nice tone at higher rpms too, in between shifts. I like it.

don't do that. I did it and I regret it.

I'd rather keep the cat or have a high flow one.

super 44's are quiet anyway. i had 40s on my 302 foxbody with long tubes and when i switched to 44's they made the car really quiet until i really got on it and even then it wasnt as loud as the 40 series. my last fox had the series 10's and with those you might as well not even have mufflers lol.

Just ended up chopping my cat.
    Running 2" back from there.
Just enough sound. Not looking to try be a 16 yr old pounding it around getting people to 'LOOK AT ME'
But she holds a nice hum in 3rd.
