Best brand or source of head gasket for 22re

    Anybody use a 22re head gasket from Toyhead?

    I would say use oem if you can. However I swapped a head/gasket/timing chain etc. about 3 years ago and I used a felpro gasket set bought at the local autozone and it's been working great. I think I have put about 60k miles into it (20k yearly commute). It's more important to make sure the mating surfaces are very clean and flat, sand the cast iron surface of the block, make sure no traces of old gasket or rust is left. Torque everything correctly and in the right sequence, re-torque after 500-1000 miles. I used about 75 ft lbs.
