Battery hooked up backwards

    After battery was connected correctly, there is no spark from the ingition.

    Have no idea where to start to find the problem. Was told it may be the ignitor but that is a large expense without knowing for sure. 1986 Toyota 4 wheel drive 22r engine. Please give me some ideas.

    Check your main fuse. It should be popped from crossing the wire. It should be the big green one.

    that fuse was blown and i replaced it but it didnt solve the problem.

    so no spark out of the coil. Sound like the other dudes problem. There is also a ignitor fuse you should check. Make sure your getting power to the ignitor.

    [​IMG] ohms =test coil and spark plug wires ign=4030-9410ohms cyl 1=5690-13910 ohms cyl 2=5150-12010 ohms cy3=4810-11220 cyl 4=3730-8710 ohms should not go more than 25k ohms or replace wires
    [​IMG] With non magnetic feeler gauges Air Gap between .008-.016 if not remove distributor assembly on 22r replace pickup coil/breaker plate assembly
    [​IMG] Ohm test pickup coil should be 140-180 ohms
    Ignition coil ohms of a 22r primary .40-.50 ohms seconday 8500-11500 ohms 22re primary .50-.70 sec 11400-15600 ohms

    Worst case you hurt the pcm?

    where is the ingitor fuse located on a 22r engine?

    i need help locating this ignitor fuse and ive heard of fuses being behind the glove box i removed the glove box and only found fuses for heat and air all help is appreciated

    come on guys i need some help all of my fuses are good and getting power but im still getting no spark...

    there are fuses on the drivers side kick panel, by the heater, and under the hood

    U need to test the igniter and ignition coil for spark
