hey all, i have an 82 rn46 4x4 hilux which a friend found in a shed. wasnt even looking for one, but suddenly it appeared and the price was too good to pass up, i was in the market for a trailer at the time, and got one with an engine....and what an engine! -----am quite happy to discover the thing has an 18r-geu in it!!!!------ ive named it Bashy Crump after the bush bashing kiwi legend my first question to you all, is; where would i find an engine manual for the 18r-geu? its proving a hard engine to get info on!! early celica? am wanting to find the factory tuning settings so i can reset it to factory nice to be back on toyota minis, i used to have an rn25, think the build thread must still be on here somewhere... stoked to be a hilux owner again, and looking forward to seeing what you're all up to. will upload some more photos soon! cheers, Joel

have a few things on the way to install! - some gauges; water temp, volts and oil pressure - spotlights - new radiator - new water pump - some paint and have a painter lined up to do it will upload installation pics!
thanks mate! it is. couple little niggles here and there that need sorting, but over all its awesome!
http://www.toyotaminis.com/forum/forums/1976-1983-build-up-project-threads.21/ under title: my 79 rn25 hilux found my old build up thread. sold this for next to nothing was an awesome truck. still gutted about it
so, the radiator i got was out of a 97 hilux, managed to score it for $75 instead of $487, which was good. turns out to be 100mm (or 4" if you're one of them) taller, and 50mm wider.....less good. the chassis rails are right in the way, which means the bonnet wont shut. so it looks like im doing a body lift! definitely the right decision. any tips anyone? j
