Hey guys, I recently picked up a 1978 pickup that needs a fair amount of work and wanted some opinions before I start ordering parts.

The brakes barely work unless you really push hard on the pedal, and the engine idles high. The previous owner claimed that the brake booster was bad and leaking, therefore throwing off the vacuum in the carburetor. He said the choke must be on for it to idle, but a new brake booster would fix the idle issue and the brake issue. I don't know much about carbureted engines, does this sound right?

    Thanks for the help guys
