You should measure from the top of the axle to the bottom of the frame and see how much you can lower it. Every truck is different.
Haha I barely have any room at all. Maybe a couple inches.... Talked to a guy about doing a small notch, he wants $400. Seem high? I'll measure tonight when I'm not at work.
Hmmm. From what I've seen, 5" might be doable, as long as you don't mind the frame on the axle most of the time. 6" is usually out of the question. With my 3" drop leaves, I had about 2" of space between the housing and frame.
I'd rather notch it and be able to actually have suspension. I would like to auto cross this truck this summer.... Kind of what I thought but it didn't hurt to ask. So I take it you weren't running blocks with the drop leaves?
Hit up streettacos.com.. You can install a bolt on notch and get your desired 5/6 rear inch drop with no issues. I have a bolt on notch since 2007 and I have a 9 inch rear drop with air shocks on my Tacoma. On my 82 I had 4 1/2 inch blocks, mono leafed with a bolt on notch. By the way 400 is way too high for a notch. You get the bolt on notch draw the template on your frame and you can do it yourself. I think streettacos.com (Brian) charges 160 bucks include shipping for the notch. He also sells other rear parts to do a drop strong and safe. Hope that helps..
Thanks so much man! That makes it all so much easier. Glad to hear it's been safe. That's always a concern. Looks like my kit is 136 bucks! I'll send him an email soon. Thanks again! Blake
