Well, I'm a little disappointed. When the shocks are mounted, I lose about 2.5" of lift. I experimented with a few different ways to mount them and found that unless I cut into the bed and go with a longer shock, there is no way to achieve the 15" lift while still getting the right amount of shock absorption. I may opt to change this later, but for now I think it is adequate.

It is so sexy. I just sat and stared for a few minutes after I got it reassembled.

Trap- I know, I'm having a tough time even envisioning now what I'd like to do with the bed. I thought I knew, now, not so much.

SD- Hadn't thought of that, definitely worth exploring. I may actually wait a little while to reinstall the bed till I work out these kinks.

Do I need the extra travel? Probably not, but heck, it's there, might as well try to use it....

Hey Trap, I'm going to keep the fuel tank in the stock location just raised up an inch or so.

I sprayed the frame with PPG ALK-200 enamel. Tomorrow I'll paint the air tank and get it and the valves mounted and hopefully wired. The AZ OB-2 will mount on that rear bracket. I have two brackets, with the plan to go to two compressors eventually, but decided to only weld one on now....

Then, this week sometime I will get the driveshaft over to orlando to advanced driveline for a couple mods, and then start work on the exhaust. After that, the tranny crossmember and Z-ing the front frame for the new A-arms and brackets.

This is taking much longer than I hoped, but about what I expected.

when you move a control arm mount up or down you must move it in or out to stay in line with the steering. If you dont your toe will change as you raise or lower the suspension.

last thing i read about re-doing the X-member was if u raise the LCA ur guna have to raise the UCA... And thats just the start. Theres more crap to go along with it. Either Z it or dont. haha. Only 2 options really

Besides i keep hearing bout redoing the crossmember but never see any set ups with it.., Starting to seem like a Fcukin unicorn..

Well, got a little done tonight. I expected this to be a big job, but even I am surprised at how much work there is here. And I haven't even finished the rear yet....

It is PPG ALK-200 enamel. It covered really well, but I ran out before the brackets, hidden bumper, and tank were painted, so I fell back to my old standby, Rustoleum enamel. It looks and covers the same as the PPG. Just be sure to thin it a bit with mineral spirits or acetone before spraying.
