    Hi everyone,

There is a lot of information on here about how to LOWER the 2wd platform. This will come in handy when I go to lower the truck I just bought, but right now I have a '94 and I'm in the process of raising it back up. The truck had blown shocks all around, the rear had 3' lowering blocks, and the front ride height appears to only be adjusted by the torsion bars.

I've replaced shocks all around, removed the rear blocks, and raised the torsion bars as much as possible. Unfortunately the rear sits nearly two inches higher than the front and it looks much more extreme than all of the stock truck pictures that are on Google images.

I've also removed the rear torsion adjustment arms so that the torsion bars were no longer attached to anything. At this point, I am assuming that the lower control arms, therefore wheels and tires, would be hanging as low as they could possibly go (the truck is suspended in the air). Am I correct in that assumption?

After I released the tension on the torsion bars, the wheels didn't fall any lower, but still, when I tighten the torsion bars back to their tightest setting and lower the truck to the ground, it still appears to be lower in the front than expected based on how high the rear looks. Days later, after all the shocks have settled, it appears the same.

Any input would be great. Thank you guys.

Should sit far higher than that with cranked torsions. Do you have any pictures of the spindle/ball joint? I'm betting you've got BJs flipped or possibly drop spindles.

No, it isn't that bad, but old guys on eBay will look at it funny and I want it to look totally stock and go for as much as I can get for it. I'll take some pictures next time I'm under it and see what you guys think.

But if anyone can chime in and help confirm that the front sits lower than it should currently, that's all I'm after.

Check the ball joints, they're probably flipped.

    Are the fronts drop shocks?

Honestly ive seen a lot of fairly unmolested trucks have the ass end up a good amount higher than the back.

All of the new shocks are NAPA OE replacements, so no. I will be back under it on Wednesday the 4th and I'll post pictures as soon as it's up on the lift to see if anyone has any more insight. Thank you all who responded.

A simple picture of the front suspension will tell us all the info needed to know what's going on.

If it helps my truck is stock and measures about 27" from the ground to the middle of the front fender.

It absolutely does, thank you sojayota. Like I said, I'll be back under it on the 4th and the first thing I'm going to do is take a picture and post it here to see what you guys think. I also found this video on youtube

which I think is a great resource for others, and it gave me an idea of what to look for for the bj flip or possibly drop spindles.

I may know a guy with one sitting in a storage shed that's a Lund Moon visor so it's got clearance lights.
