I bought a 22r 88toyota pickup that needed a new head gasket I replaced that set the timing on the carb and got her running I was told it was registered through 2009 well came home from work and it was impounded for not being registered since 2007 I payed all the fees tried to get it smogged and it wont because it is missing(according to the smog tech a pulse air injector or a ball with two hoses) I can't find this and I cant put the truck in my name till it is smogged. I want to get rid of the truck for 1000firm if any one can help me pass smog or wants the truck for that price as is let me know

    1.

    location?
nobody will buy your truck if they dont know where you are, or it is.

    2.

    pics?
maybe somebody here has the same style of truck with the correct equipment, so a pic of yours would help us tell you what you need, or know if we have it in a box somewhere under a monstrous stack of beer cans.

    3.

have you checked a junkyard for your missing bits?

to be honest with you, it should not be a huge issue to replumb the truck with the correct parts to pass smog.

if you actually want to keep the truck, yer somewhat near me enough where i would offer to help you out. i have the sources to get what you need. but we need to know exactly what you are missing.

that resonator is likely what the smog reff was talkin about.

Just have to add my 2 cents, these engines are built to run under tight restraints. Keeping all the way the engineers designed, will keep your engine alive for a long time!
And yes, they can be that way & produce lots of power!

drop in some alcohol in the tank w/ 1/4 tank left
run it hard so it's nice and hot right all the way up to the actual dyno run
should pass smog even w/o a cat

should help. this part is part of the air injection system wich helps complete the burn in the mixture of the exhaust gases being passed through. kinda leans it out so yea, should help you pass.
