88 automatic

    ok so i had a leak coming from the tail shaft, i replaced the seal and did gasket and filter replace also. put new oil. drove it let sit over night. big puddle coming from the tail shaft again. i dont know what else to check. need help please.

    Does the shaft have pits or grooves that would allow the oil to escape thru the seal.

    no everything is smooth and clean. thats why i dont understand. is there a bearing in the tail shaft at all that could leak?

    from the trans back to the universal joint.

    i think i figured it out. it could be the bushing. so im going to replace that this weekend and see if that works.
