I have a "93" ext. cab with a 22re. So far I have bagged it, Z'ed it, body dropped it. Now I'm working on fitting the fenders and hood. My problem is the hood. I don't have enough clearance for it to close. I need roughly 1" for it to close (yes I cut the motor mounts as far as I could without modifying the oil pan or steering linkage). I really don't want to cut the hood.
So my question is can I use an upper intake plenum off a 85-89 22re? The reason being they are slanted downward in the front where the throttle body bolts on. I just want to bolt my throttle body and other components to it. My current intake is straight.

    Any thoughts ??

That may be the easiest solution. I may be able to get enough if I cut and mod some of the hood supports. Just not sure what I want to do yet.
