You know, when these first became available on Toyota trucks (1991?) I thought they were SOOOOO ugly and that I was SOOOO glad mine didn't have one.

But you're right, there are SOOOOO many dumbasses lately that I may have to install one as well. But I still think they're ugly... :(

Fantastic build! I love how well everything is tucked inside the frame rails. You have ended up with a lot more usable cargo room that way. I'm also glad to see you are keeping the patina.

What spacers are you running on those Explorer rims?

No wheel spacers needed, they fit the rear perfect but the front are touching the lip of the fender so Ill have to roll the edge to clear.

    Back on the 76 again

Before and after on a little door panel work. I made some interior parts from a 92 4runner fit. I don't recommend it. Very time consuming.

Awesome work. I know what you mean about time consuming. I did similar work on my 90 Pickup with Tacoma pods and 4runner arm rests. It's in my build thread if you are interested.

    Starts and runs

Wire harness is done and installed. Gauges, indicators, and stereo system is in. Starts and runs now. Still have some timing and carb adjustments to make. Also have some leaky brake lines keeping me busy.

I only drove it about 20 miles when I bought it 2 years ago and it ran pretty weak. I stripped it down a week after that and have been building it ever since so not sure what improvement the distributor made on its own.

Season is soon coming to an end. Almost Time to put it on blocks. Odometer is at about 1200 and climbing. Holding up well. One oil leak at the oil pressure sensor, replaced it with a new one. Should have replaced it when it was easy to get at. With the cooler weather I found that the heater puts out blazing heat, wow.
