There is going to be a tubular brace that goes between the left/rights sides and there will be more of the same dimple died structuring you see on other parts.

I wasn't meaning so much for side to side, I more more front to back. It would help from ripping your welds out of the frame, more surface area to spread out the stress.

Just a thought, I'd rather over build it the first time than have to re build it a second.

There will be more gusseting in addition to the tower brace, I messaged the shop and asked, also the bolt on tower brace will connect to the firewall as well. If comes down to it needing to be rebuilt, they sure as hell better stand by their work.

Still slow going... The strut towers and brace are coming along, as well as inner panels getting mocked up.

Yeah, if you look closely you can see it bolts to the towers. The towers are also going to be tied into the core support and the firewall, and you can see all of the plating will also tie the towers into the body.

Damn dude this is a great build!! Thats cool you're up in Eugene too, I'm in Roseburg and just picked up my first pickup, a '76 and not sure what direction I want to go with it. Think I could shoot you a message or anything when it comes time to do some stuff like this? I'd love to know what shops you used for some of the fabrication! Hell, maybe we could go for a drive one of these days haha cheers!

Thanks! I am more than happy to answer any questions I can. The Hilux is at SDMF Customs, it has been for over a year and a half, not sure when it will be done, I currently daily an '81 shortbed.

Well, for now getting back in my driveway running is the goal. I mean long story, short, it's getting a beams/6 speed, ITBs, AEM, alumiinum radiator, PanicWire harness, lightweight flywheel, stage 2 clutch, 240sx front suspension/brakes w/modified spindles(more steering angle), brake booster delete, 3 link/torque arm rear susp. with QA1 coil overs and dual caliper rear disc brakes, Speedhut gauges, BRZ seat, powder coat on entire frame, I'm sure there's something I'm forgetting. Oh, eventually I'll repaint her. I think if I come up with any more plans for it any time soon my wife will make me dig a husband sized hole in the back yard, lol.
