Well, it's been a while since my last update. The truck is currently in the shop with the intentions of installing a blacktop 3SGE BEAMS engine out of an Altezza RS200. So if anyone close to Eugene Oregon might want to help me figure out a good suspension set up that is aimed at greatly improved handling that would be awesome.

Before it went to the shop I was able to do some cleanup and get some paint done, it's only Krylon but it looks way better. I pulled the grill, valance, and fenders to paint under there as well.

I applied Ospho to everything after cleaning the surface rust up, that's why it looks kind of dark greyish.

I can't decide if I like it better with the bumper or without it...

That's all I have for now, til I get her back from the shop. Until then I get to drive the beater '78 around, I hope it makes it till the '73 is done...

I did a low gloss white, now I kinda wish I would have done full gloss. How does everyone feel about gloss versus low gloss/satin?

Satin white looks nicer IMO. Gloss white gets a little boring sometimes.

Anyone have any opinions on whether the bumper should stay or go? I plan on pulling the rear back off(I put it on for the winter in case someone slid into me)

Either way it looks good. Considering its only 4 bolts to take off and put on just switch off lol

Personally I think it looks a lot better with the bumper on. It just looks nice and clean that way. Keeps some of the original character of the car

I agree, it does look a bit more aggressive without it though.

So the truck is still in the shop, the engine/trans are out but the engine is a bit bigger than we anticipated. So the plan is now to cut out the front section of the frame and do a tube frame in its place. It will probably have s13 front brakes and suspension. I hope it starts coming together soon.

So it sounds like the S13 suspension might be out the window in favor of Mustang II/Pinto(?) front suspension, who knows at this point. It looks like the front clip isn't going to be started till August... so frustrating.

The shop has me set up to get the truck in next month, so I'm just waiting now (it's killing me!) So when that shop finishes the frame and suspension it will go back to the other shop for engine/trans(first place doesn't have stuff to do fab) It's been so long since I've driven my truck that I really wish I would have just spent the money on a newer car....

I know how you feel but it will be all worth it in the end. I'm looking forward to starting my build and driving her when done

I really need to figure out a rear end set up. I will have bigger disc brakes up front and would really like to get rid of the rear drums. Besides drum brakes are probably not the best thing for a drift truck...

So, the cab is getting pulled off of Lola this week and she should be going to the other shop to have the front tube frame built! I'm so excited!
