That's fun. Is that a Kentucky plate? They're a long way from home.

I spent the wee hours of the morning a couple weeks ago learning all about importing a car after an article I came across on Jalopnik. So essentially you can import a 25 year old car with no restrictions at the federal level. Getting it state registered is something else, though. I was excited to find a website where you could purchase a 4-door 89-95 Hilux from Japan. I love my 92 pickup, but would it love it even more if it were a 4-door.
The downside is they were priced anywhere between $12K and $20K if I remember right. I can't justify spending that amount on a 25 year old vehicle in 25 year old condition.

British Columbia plate. Closer than Kentucky, but still a ways from home.

Honestly all i really want is the 4dr cab. Dont care for the jap bed on the later body style. Probably try to make it LHD with a full size bed to avoid legal BS around here and have a clean truck

And yea its from British Columbia

I agree with you on the 4dr cab and reg bed.
So I looked at some websites and it looks like I was a little over on my estimates, you can probably pull one for around $9k. On an unrelated note it looks like the most common import available right now is the Nissan Figaro, which I didn't know existed. Too bad I'm not in the market for a really retro looking clown car.
