    I have been diggin this idea for a while. What I'd like is one that just pops out at the bottom instead of the sides. I grabbed some early 80s tercel back side window hardware. 2 hinges and 1 latch per side. Just a regular screw mount onto the glass, not riveted. I figure with a modded window seal, and a few holes I can make it work on my hilux. Anybody have any similar ideas or seen something like that?

    Sounds like you are wanting to make the back window like the old VW pop out safari windows. I think they use a piano type hinge at the top and rotating latches at the bottom with a seal that the window closes against.
