So I am looking to convert my 86 pickup to having wing windows, and would also like to electrify them. I can't seem to find any electric motors for the 84-88 pickups with a vent window, so I've got a couple questions: 1) did these not come with electric windows and wing windows 2) does an electric window crank mechanism for an 89-95 model work on an 84-88?

    3) can I just cut the track on the non-wing window mechanism? 4) is this even possible?

Well, of course rock auto had what I was looking for..... so I guess hopefully next update will be progress.

I have the vent windows with trim, the 3/4 windows for both sides, and electric regulators for windows with the vent coming in the mail.

I changed my doors out to same year 84-88 4 Runner doors with no vent glass, power windows ,power locks & power mirrors. If you go this way make sure you get all the relays & the circuit breakers ( at the fuse panel behind the drivers kick panel). I took the whole fuse panel.
You can also check out Electric Life, they have power window kits & switches.
When I made my doors suicide doors I did away with the lays & power locks ( have Locar Safey Latches), & used their switches.

Betsy actually came stock with electric everything, so I'm working with just rerouting the old wires (cut at the door) to the new setup. The doors still have the original toyota lock solenoids in them.

One thing that pissed me off most about the stock setup was how I couldn't open or close the windows without the key in the "on" position, so I may try to wire it to "accessory", or if I end up using toggle switches, they will open the circuit instead of running it through ground when in rest position, so I could even wire it to straight 12v constant without worrying about draining my battery.

The stock relays have timers in them so can apply power for a shot time after key is turned off.
I wired mine so only function with key on or at accessory.

Well then the timer must have been broken the whole time I've owned her.
Cool, that is what I expect to do as well.

Cool deal, thanks man! I'm thinking of going with momentary toggle switches for the window up/down, but the stock setup like you have in those schematics have default position running the motor through ground, and the toggles would just keep the circuit open. I'm not sure there is any harm in doing it either way, but I'm doing a little further research.
The locks I was able to rig up and get working, so that is pretty cool.

These are not the stock switches, the are the the ones pictured from Electric Life, momentary toggle back lighted switches. 3 on the drivers side 7 a single one on the passenger side.
I fitted they bezels to the stock 4-Runner mount, the forward one one the drivers side controls the Lockar Safety latches for the suicide doors ,which I used stock latches & hinges.

I got both my windows, but have a bit of a problem. This is the Driver's side window:

My problem is that it is missing the brass piece that mounts it to the regulator:

Any idea what these are called and where i can get one?

If you can't buy one, you could make one very easily.

The clips work great, rested on the regulator's rail and screw holes lined up!
So I spent the past few days working on this, and here are the results:

I did the passenger's side first, so I made a new door panel, and started routing the wires
    PassDoorWiringSm.jpg

I then installed the door panel and a switch to test it out. Everything worked, so I continued working on it.

    PassDoorPanelSm.jpg

I made a little box out of metal with an open top, upholstered it, and bolted it to the door panel. I then used a wood cap with holes drilled in it to access the wiring and to mount the switches to.

Then the driver's side went the same way

I have some mahogany I want to use for the switch plates, so that may come down the road.

How do these actually grip the glass? Is it like the factory piece just in 2 smaller pieces?

yeah, they have a slot in them. I used a construction adhesive I had lying around to glue them to the window, they don't have enough grip themselves to move the window down.
