How do I get rid of the clicking sound inside the cab that the turn signal gives off? I cannot stand it. Can't. Stand. It.
+1 on that being the sound of the relay. Doesn't every other car in the world click like that? So pretty much I read that as you hate driving anything?
Just move the turn signal stalk up and down yourself so itl never click... On a serious note, maybe one of the newer electronic flashers might solve the "problem"
It just seems to me like the older Toyota pickups have it so much louder than normal. It seems to over power the damn radio if it isn't cranked sky high and this particular sound is obnoxious to me. No need to read any further into it to be cute. This doesn't even say I hate driving my truck. It says I cannot stand the signal click and more so how obnoxiously loud it is.
Alright, i'll stop being a d-bag. You may be able to muffle it by moving the relay. It would take some definite trial and error, though. Somewhere i read an assumption that the post it is attached to amplifies the click. You might try removing the anchor that holds it and see if that helps. Or try what jetas said and see if you can find an electronic relay. Not sure where to start with that search, though. Maybe look at the options people are using for LEDs to avoid hyperclick.
Yea the electronic flashers im talking about are the ones you can use to fet rid of hypre flash from installing LEDs
Jetas and KingBouyah are right. I had to put an E Flasher in mine from having installed LEDs and it helps a lot. Even better is I broke the mount trying to pull it so it's basically wrapped in that foam-ish loom tape. Side note, people in the Prius forums are actively looking for LOUDER relays because they have no way to know their signal has been on for miles hahahahaha
Don't mean to thread jack, but I remember back in the day that everyone recommended using a "Napa" (I think) flasher for led lights. Does anyone remember which one that was? Part #? I've tried searching and can't seem to find any info on the bugger. I just want something that will work with signals and hazard lights.
Ep35 is what I think it was. Edit: Triton ep35. Found it all over Marlin crawler/yotatech Addendum! Caveat Emptor... This flasher didn't work for me. I went with the SuperBrightLeds adjustable flasher relay. (YMMV)
Thanks bud, I'll try the adjustable flasher relay. I take it you can adjust the speed of flash with it?
Totally right. Or at least I encourage you to research it. I don't know why I couldn't get the ep35 to work.
I've lost my invoice but I'm pretty sure it's this one. https://www.superbrightleds.com/mor...electronic-adjustable-rate-flasher/1919/4481/ There's two pinouts, German/Euro and Japanese. I couldn't remember until I found this... http://toyotaminis.com/forum/threads/electronic-flasher.19508/
