Jets control how much fuel is put into the engine. Look up and read on the side drafts. If you are going to run those, you will need to know how to do a basic tune. Also, side drafts like to run at 3.5PSI fuel from what I've been told and read online. I am planning to try and run E85 thru my 40mm side drafts once my truck is back together, which will be awhile as I have it fully stripped down atm.

I dunno what carb setup you have but on my Weber carb'd 20r, the truck was like you described yours - would fall on its face trying to accelerate from stop to around 2k rpms, then would take off and run awesome. Changed the primary jet one size larger without really touching anything else save for idle adjustment and now it runs significantly better. Still needs fine tune but now it's driveable.

No I know what jets are I have delt with sidedrafts but I'm dumb founded these are brand new from Weber. They are Weber 45mm. I had to adjust the float too because she kept dumping fuel and wouldn't cut out. I have it at 4 psi I think that's still to high?

Pretty sure a weber 32/36 has max psi of 3.5 and should be set around 3.

Edit: got my jet kit from redline via Amazon prime a few months ago. It was $60

So figured the issue on the suction but now I'm getting lots of popping changed my idle jet to a size bigger now I have popping coming from my carbs she idles great but when under accel or deccel she is popping and struggling? I'm running out of ideas I'm gonna check my valves and rockers to make sure it's not sticking. Also what's the degrees my timing should be my book said 8° Btdc
