Ive got 4" blocks and 3" leafs springs with air shocks. Is there anything else i can do to get lower? I haven't notched it yet..was just curious what else if anything can i do to make it lower Also i plan on getting the DJM lca's in a couple weeks then ill do a BJ FLIP and adjust my TBs. I akready have the drop spindles. I know thats about it for the front...so just curious about the back
You're pretty much maxed out without notching. I didn't see any mention of shackles... Are they still stock? Also don't forget that you can still redrill the front spring hangers for another tiny amount. You can even put slider shackles so that the leafs are practically on the frame for that ultra low.
U got any more pics of that set up have? Yea my shackles are stock. I was wondering if they could be shorter or even get rid of them and bolt the leaf directly to the shackle mount?
Cant bolt it directly to the mount. When a leaf spring compresses it flattens out and gets longer so it has to be able to move or it will bind. The slider system that BatryOpratedBoy mentioned is the closest thing to that.
This is the most relevant picture I found dude. It was just a quick google search at 2am though haha. Here's a link to a kit. Just look up "leaf spring slider" There's a few threads on Jalopy Journal as well speaking about their reliability. Bearings are better than the Teflon block and don't seem to get affected by street use. YMMV. http://pitstopusa.com/i-5069101-afco-leaf-spring-slider-assembly.html Oh and make sure to account for Pinion Angle change when/if you do this.
How does this rear set up ride and how much air do you run in the shocks? I want to do the same thing and hold out on a notch for a bit.
Its rides good. Think i have mine around 30psi...40 if im hauling something. lol i go by where the bed sits with the tire to try n match up the front so it sits even. But for a dd it rides good.
