so are all the lips painted silver or are some plain aluminum clear coated?
are all these guys stripping the silver paint or able to just strip some clear coat and then polish?

I'm pretty sure that all of the crown victoria versions come with a polished lip with a clear coat. The other ones I'm not sure, some may be silver, some may be polished with clear. You can just sand off all of the paint and polish the lip though.

I just cleaned up my set, I used aircraft stripper in a can to get all of the clear coat off of the lip and it didn't seem to affect the silver paint on the face. I had to sand and fill some road rash though because I'll be powdercoating mine all one color.

you could also put your truck up on jack stands, leave it running in gear and just hold a piece of sandpaper against the rim until the paint is gone ;)

I just bought a set. All silver. Twisted (or anyone else) , did you ever get your lips stripped and polished?

Damn. These cheap crown vic wheels can look so good painted and polished. Just wish they were wider.
