I've wanted a early hilux for years and finally had the cash to buy one. I picked up a 73 hilux yesturday it has a 18rc with a automatic, and already has front disk brakes and 3" blocks in the rear. For now I'm just looking for mighty max front springs and maybe take a leaf out of the rear.

Thanks guys, not to many plans in the near future for it, just lower the front and possibly start building a 22r or 22re for someday in the future when the 18rc takes a crap

That's a clean looking truck. One day I would like to own an older Toyota truck (hilux / stout) but until then, I'll put money into my 86 and make it into what I want.

Nice and clean! Looks like someone converted the grill to a '75-'78 style.

How tough is it to actually do? Mine is busted and I'll have to get a new grille so if it's not too bad I would just take the first I can find of either the old or new.

Valance, headlight buckets, and some grille mounting tabs are different on the core support. Pretty easy just a bit of cutting and welding

Yeah the truck was in a little fender bender sometime before I bought it, just enough to crack the paint on the passenger inner fender, Im pretty sure that's why it has a newer grill.

Well a little update, my alternator took a crap so I got that replaced. And today I got my mighty max springs from belltech, I got one side finished but a stubborn ball joint didn't wanna come out I think I need a bigger bfh. I'll post some pics when I get it all buttoned up.

I couldn't get the floor jack out from under the front crossmember when I sat it down lol, I'd say about 6 inches under the door, I'll take some measurements after I remove some leafs outta the rear this weekend

Are you using the old shocks? What is the part num for those springs? I want to use the same ones on my truck. Did you take out the rubber stoppers, on my truck they are pretty tall. I think I might have to take them out.

looks smooth; what brand type blocks you using in the back to lower the truck?
