Driving my truck today, as i pull in my driveway i notice consistent drops of fluid running from the street onto my driveway. I sourced the leakage to this line pictured...can someone let me know what exact line this is so i can order the part and replace it. i'm having a brainfart and cant think of the damn name and im not sure...pretty sure its PS fluid correct me if im wrong. thanks for any help
I'd name it Fredrick but his friends and family can call him Fred. That is indeed the power steering pressure line.
When you change the line out, use ATF to refill the system, NOT power steering fluid. I never understood why that line is 4 feet long and not a simple foot long, straight shot like it needs to be.
thanks for the heads up. did not know that. this is the first toyota i've decided to keep my PS on instead of eliminating it. any particular ATF recommendations?
^ x2 Autozone brand ATF has worked fine for me for 2 years. I made the mistake of using power steering fluid when I did the conversion and the steering was always a little notchy. When I found out I should have used ATF, I did a flush and fill and the steering was 100x better and smoother.
